On 05/09/22 Licensing Program Analysts (LPA) Araceli Gibson and (LPA) Adrian Pizano conducted an unannounced annual inspection. LPA met with Teacher/Director, Elizabeth Garcia. Miramonte Preschool has a PM and AM session today’s census of 13 children present. LPA toured the facility, both indoors and outdoors to inspect areas accessible to children in care. This year the school year started 08/22/22 and ends on 06/09/23 and operates Monday through Friday from 8:15 AM to 11:15 AM and Afternoon session 12:15 PM to 3:15 PM.

There is no swimming pool or other bodies of water on the premises. There are no firearms or ammunition allowed or stored on the premises. Disinfectants, cleaning solutions, medication and other hazardous items are made inaccessible. No poisons were observed during the inspection. During today’s inspection by observation, record review and interview with Site Supervisor it was determined this location is in need of a reduction in capacity down to one single classroom changes were made without notification to the Department CCL (See 809D for plan of correction).

Playground, furniture and equipment are in safe condition, free of sharp, loose or pointed parts. The surface of the outdoor activity space is maintained in a safe condition and monitored for hazards. All toilets and handwashing facilities are in safe and sanitary operating condition. Floors in the facility are clean and safe. Breakfast and lunch is served and prepared in the school cafeteria. Solid waste storage containers have tight-fitting covers and are in good repair. LPA advised monitoring trash cans outdoors more frequently ensuring they are not overflowing to decrease attracting insects and flies during the warmer months of the school year. Drinking water is available both indoors and outdoors. Currently bottled drinking water is provided through bottling service Valley Springs. Areas around high climbing equipment, swings and slides have cushioning material to absorb falls. The facility is free of flies, insects and rodents. Facility has one or more functioning carbon monoxide detectors that meet statutory requirements. Continue 809C
