On 08/29/2023 Licensing Program Manager (LPM) Cynthia Brannon and Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Aurelio Mendoza conducted an unannounced case management–other inspection today. LPM Brannon and LPA Mendoza was greeted by Director Monica Curry, who accompanied LPM Brannon and LPA Mendoza on a tour of the facility inside and outside. Present during today’s inspection were 12 preschool children.

During a case management inspection, conducted on August 29, 2023, LPA Mendoza observed two tricycles missing a pedal each. A child’s feet can slip off the pedal, resulting in an injury. Today’s temperature was 99 degrees. Due to the heat, the children did not go outside to play. LPA Mendoza informed director, who removed the two tricycles. LPA Mendoza reviewed Title 22, section 101239 (m)(1) Fixtures, Furniture, Equipment and Supplies: All play equipment and materials used by children shall be age appropriate. The licensee shall provide a variety of age-appropriate equipment, toys and materials in good condition and in sufficient quantity to allow children present to fully participate in planned activities.

Per Title 22, Division 12, Chapter 3, of the California Code of Regulations, no deficiencies were cited.
