25 | On 03/30/2022, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Luisa Gavoutian conducted an unannounced Case Management inspection. LPA met with Interim Director Renee Benell, toured the facility, and took a census. The purpose of today’s inspection was to follow-up on the facility’s requested toddler option component.
On 08/02/2021, a case management inspection had been conducted at the facility and the toddler option had been discussed. On that date, indoor and outdoor measurements were taken. On 08/02/2021, LPA had observed the infant nap room contained five cribs and five “nests,” which have since been replaced with four cribs, for a total of nine cribs. LPA had discussed the required items to be sent to Community Care Licensing (CCL) prior to approval of the toddler component.
Today, Interim Director stated that the facility is still considering adding the toddler component to the license and the primary reason is to assist with transitioning of two-year-olds into the preschool license. LPA suggested that the facility has the option to designate one of the currently-licensed preschool classrooms for the 2-3 year old children, which can still assist with transitioning into the preschool program without having to add a toddler component to the license.
If the facility wants to pursue the toddler component, the following documents should be submitted to CCL:
- Updated LIC 200A Application for a Child Care Center License indicating requested capacity for infant, toddler option, preschool, and school-age programs.
- Form LIC 9054 must be submitted to CCL and a fire clearance is required.
- An updated facility sketch showing the classrooms where infants and toddlers will be served.
