25 | On 03/4/2022, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Stefanie Galvan conducted an unannounced case management inspection. LPA met with Teacher Maria Ramirez, toured the facility, and took a census. The purpose of today’s inspection was to discuss an incident that was reported to Community Care Licensing (CCL).
Information provided to CCL office claimed that this preschool class was operating out of ratio. It was reported that there were "too many children in the classroom with only one teacher". LPA Galvan conducted this visit to ensure that this facility and its staff understood the teacher to child ratio requirements which are 1 teacher to 12 children when only one staff member present.
101216.3 Teacher-Child Ratio (a)There shall be a ratio of one teacher visually observing and supervising no more than 12 children in attendance. At no time is this facility allowed to operate out of ratio. Teacher Maria verified with LPA Galvan today that attendance and staff presence meet ratio requirements. During today's visit, there were 15 children and 2 staff members.
This appears to be an isolated incident and staff took appropriate measures to address appropriate policies, adhere to regulations, and comprehend reporting requirements.
No deficiencies cited during today’s inspection.
An exit interview conducted with Teacher, Maria Ramirez. LIC 9213 Notice of Site Visit to be posted for 30 days.
