13 | On 3/27/2024 Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Miguel Herrera and Elizabeth Torres conducted an unannounced inspection to continue the complaint investigation that was received on 03/07/2024. LPAs met with Director, Trenity Jones to discuss the purpose of the inspection. A tour of the facility was conducted, and census was taken. During the course of this investigation, facility observations were completed, facility records were reviewed, and interviews were conducted with staff.
Based upon information received through interviews and records review, it was determined that the toddler classroom at times was operating out of ratio. Furthermore, Director Jones disclosed that the toddler classroom would commingle with the preschool classroom to meet ratios. Through records review and interviews, LPA Herrera confirmed that on 03/26/2024 an unqualified staff member was left alone supervising children for one hour during nap time. Director Jones stated that she understood that unqualified staff are not allowed to be left alone with children without the direct supervision of a qualified teacher. LPA Herrera also reviewed and observed children and staff timesheets for 02/22/2024 that indicated that the classroom was operating out of ratio. Therefore, the preponderance of evidence standard has been met, the above allegation is found to be SUBSTANTIATED. (To be continued on 9099-C.)
