On 07/10/2024, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Stephanie Vega-Gonzalez conducted an announced case management inspection that was initiated by Licensee and met with Fresno Unified School District Early Learning Department Health & Safety Supervisor, Charlotte Miranda. Licensee is Fresno Unified School District. LPA explained the reason of the inspection. LPA conducted a tour of the outside of the facility. There are currently no children present due to summer break.

Community Care Licensing had been informed by Charlotte that facility would undergo renovations beginning tentatively on May 11, 2024, and had requested for a temporary playground to be used. Charlotte had informed the department that temporary playground is located directly behind the preschool classroom and would like to use area starting 08/12/2024 through 10/01/2024. Charlotte had informed the department that children’s drinking water will be provided via a water igloo and disposable cups to be used when children are present in the temporary playground. Charlotte had also informed the department that a temporary 10 by 10-foot shade canopy will be placed prior to children being present.

During today’s inspection, LPA inspected and discussed with Charlotte the play yard area that the center would like to utilize for the children until the construction of their current yard. LPA observed that that there is a water drainage basin next to the temporary play yard that is inaccessible. During the walk through of the yard, LPA noticed that temporary play yard has a chain-link fence that is at least 5 feet or higher that runs along the whole of the back play yard. LPA did observe various animal fecal matter throughout the grassy parts of the yard. Charlotte stated that the children will have access of the play yard through the back door of the preschool classroom. Children will have access to the preschool restroom through the back door as well.
