25 | On 10/09/2024, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Aurelio Mendoza conducted an unannounced 3-Year Inspection for the preschool license. LPA met with Staff #1 and toured the facility, including indoor and outdoor areas. The facility operates Monday through Friday with an AM session from 8:00 AM to 11:00 AM and a PM session from 11:30 AM to 2:30 PM.
All poisons are locked away, and no hazardous items were observed. There are no bodies of water, firearms, or ammunition on-site. Furniture, equipment, and outdoor play areas are safe, with cushioned surfaces around climbing structures. Toilets and handwashing facilities are sanitary, and carbon monoxide detectors are functioning. Floors are clean, and trash containers have tight-fitting lids. Drinking water is available both indoors and outdoors through personal bottles, fountains, and water dispensers. Snacks and meals are provided, with menus posted in advance.
Capacity and staff-child ratios comply with regulations. At least one staff member trained in CPR and Pediatric First Aid is always present. Children are supervised at all times. A review of children and staff files found them complete with required documentation, including contact and medical information, health screenings, immunization records, and mandated reporter training certificates.
LPA discussed the Community Care Licensing website (www.ccld.ca.gov) for access to resources and forms. Reporting Requirements under Section 101212 were reviewed. Staff #1 was reminded that adults over 18 must have a criminal record clearance or exemption prior to working at the facility. Violations result in civil penalties of $100 per day for up to 5 days or up to 30 days for repeat violations.
