25 | On 3/6/2024, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Claribel Soto met with Site Supervisor Irene Carrillo for an unannounced Case Management incident inspection. LPA toured the facility and a census was taken. The purpose of today's inspection was to address an unusual incident, reported to the Fresno Community Care Licensing (CCL) office. This incident occurred at the facility in classroom #4 on 2/23/2024.
This incident involved a day-care child. Children were playing outside and were entering the classroom. Child #1 (C1) ran toward the door as Staff #1 (S1) was opening it and hit his forehead on the outside edge of the door. C1 gradually started to get a bump on his forehead and a small scratch. S1 provided child with an ice pack and was comforted until child was picked up. Staff were being precautious and not let child be put down for a nap. Staff called parent to notify of injury and an injury report was completed. Parent had C1’s uncle pick him up. C1 did not receive medical treatment. During the time of the incident, 10 children were present and 3 staff members.
Based on the information obtained, LPA determined facility took appropriate measures to address the child's injury, and reporting requirements were met following proper policies and procedures and no regulations were violated.
Per California Code of Regulations Title 22, Division 12, Chapter 1, no deficiency was cited during today's visit. An exit interview was conducted with Site Supervisor, Irene Carrillo. |
