32 | LPA reviewed a sample of children's files and found them complete, with proper documentation of contact information and medical assessments. Staff files were also reviewed, confirming compliance with health screenings, immunization records, and mandatory training.
During the inspection, LPA discussed several key topics with Director Sandra Fierro, including the Community Care Licensing website, which provides important resources, and reporting requirements as per Section 101212 of the regulations. Director Sandra Fierro was reminded that all adults working in the facility must undergo criminal background checks, with a potential fine of $100 per day, up to five days, for noncompliance.
LPA verified that the facility had completed lead testing as required by Assembly Bill 2370. Director Sandra Fierro was advised to consult the Department’s website for further information on lead testing.
Director Sandra Fierro was informed that for children with doctor-prescribed medication, the facility is required to submit an Incidental Medical Services (IMS) plan to the Child Care Licensing Division and provide staff training on administering the medication. Information about the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), including contact details for the U.S. Department of Justice, was provided: U.S. Department of Justice (USDOJ) toll-free ADA Information Line at (800) 514-0301 (voice) or (800) 514-0383 (TTY), along with a link to the publication "Commonly Asked Questions about Child Care Centers and the ADA" available at https://www.ada.gov/resources/child-carecenters/.
LPA informed Director Sandra Fierro about the MyChildCarePlan.org website, which helps connect families with child care providers and Resource and Referral Agencies. Information about the inspection process, along with a survey link to provide feedback, was also shared.
An exit interview was conducted, and the report was reviewed with Director Sandra Fierro. In accordance with Title 22, Division 12, Chapter 1 of the California Code of Regulations, no deficiencies were cited. A LIC 9213 Notice of Site Visit was provided and must be posted for 30 days. This report will be made available to the public upon request, and a copy of the Appeal Rights was provided.
