 | On 10/26/23, Licensing Program Analyst Denisia Jimenez conducted an unannounced case management inspection. LPA met with Program Manager, Barbara Daniel. The purpose of the inspection was to follow up on information our Department received as to how the facility address behavioral issues, such as hitting, biting, and throwing things.
LPA conducted observations, toured the facility, interviewed staff, reviewed children’s files, reviewed facility policies for addressing behavioral concerns, reviewed reporting requirements, and discussed supervision requirements. The facility is taking appropriate measures to ensure behavior issues are addressed in a proactive manner. This includes, ensuring supervision requirements are maintained, children are reminded of pro social behaviors, gentle touches, using their words to communicate, sharing timers, offering alternative options, redirecting children, and open communication with parents and families. LPA discussed with Program Manager serious incidents that need to be documented, parents are notified if their child is exhibiting behavioral issues, and possible referrals may be made. In addition, the facility makes reasonable attempts to work with the child and parents or authorized representatives.

Per Title 22, Division 12, Chapter 1, of the California Code of Regulations, no deficiencies are cited.
Exit interview conducted with Barbara Daniel. This report is to be made available to the public upon request. LIC 9213 Notice of Site Visit to be posted for 30 days.
