25 | On 3/21/2025, Licensing Program Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Stephanie Vega-Gonzalez conducted an unannounced Case Management Inspection that licensee initiated for the preschool license. LPA met with Director, Michelle M. Haaland and toured the facility indoors and outdoors.
The purpose of the inspection was to inspect the new playground, Playground 2. The total outdoor activity space for Playground 2 measured to an approximate 1,302 square feet which will accommodate 17 children at a time. On 7/01/2021, Playground 1 was measured and had a capacity to accommodate 14 children. Michelle understands that she will alternate classrooms/children from Playground 1 and Playground 2 to maintain outdoor capacity for each playground.
The outdoor play area in Playground 2 is fenced all around. LPA observed plenty of age appropriate toys, shade area is provided by surrounding building and retractable shade/awning, artificial turf and rubber cushioning. LPA observed building pillars with cushioning. LPA observed a sandbox area that had a cover. Michelle stated that staff will do daily checks on the sandbox to ensure it is safe for children to play in. LPA observed a partial part of the wall in one of the buildings (picture taken) that wood was in need of repair. Michelle stated that wall area will be repaired and provide an updated image to the Department. Michelle stated that staff will provide supervision when children are outside at all times.
As of 03/21/2025, Playground 2 can be used for children in care.
