25 | On August 16, 2022, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) C Brannon conducted an announce prelicensing inspection. LPA met with Health and Safety Supervisor, Charlotte Miranda. The purpose of today's inspection is to ensure that the outstanding items listed during August 10, 2022 inspection have been corrected.
The following items were to be corrected.
Both preschool classrooms:
1) Anchor shelving units and bookshelves in the classrooms. This has not been completed. Per Charlotte Miranda, the posts to connect shelving units have been ordered but have not been delivered. The posts will secure the shelving units to ensure that the shelving units do not topple onto children. At this time, the units are back to back. Per Charlotte Miranda, staff will be instructed to provide the required care and supervision to ensure children are not climbing the shelving units. Charlotte will inform LPA Brannon that the posts have been delivered and installed as required. A return inspection will be scheduled.
2) Anchor the play kitchen components, including the dramatic play wardrobe and components. These components were removed until licensee can ensure these items are anchored. A return inspection will be scheduled when these items are installed in the classroom.
3) Cubbies are to be anchored. This was completed.
4) Bookcase needs to be anchored. This has not been completed. Per Charlotte Miranda, the posts to connect shelving units to the bookcase have been ordered but have not been delivered. The posts will secure the bookcase to ensure that the shelving units do not topple onto children. Per Charlotte Miranda, staff will be instructed to provide the required care and supervision to ensure children are not climbing the bookcase. Charlotte will inform LPA Brannon that the posts have been delivered and installed as required.
