25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Aurelio Mendoza conducted an unannounced Annual/Random inspection and met with Licensee Isabel Vazquez. Also present were the licensee’s husband, who assists in providing care, and the licensee’s adult daughter. The licensee is Spanish speaking, and LPA Mendoza provided interpretation. The facility operates Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with flexibility offered to accommodate families’ schedules.
LPA conducted a tour of the home, both inside and outside, and a census was taken. LPA reviewed the current facility sketch and verified that the kitchen, dining room, family room, daycare room, bathroom inside the daycare room, hall bathroom, and backyard are used for providing care and accessible to children. All other rooms are off-limits and made inaccessible using baby gates and doorknob spinners.
No swimming pool or bodies of water are present on the premises. The licensee stated there are no firearms or ammunition in the home. All poisons are kept in a locked storage area, and none were observed during the inspection. Detergents, cleaning compounds, medications, and other hazardous items were stored inaccessible to children.
There are no fireplaces or open-face heaters observed. The home is equipped with a functioning fire extinguisher, smoke detector, carbon monoxide detector, and has adequate heating and ventilation.
