25 | On 02/14/2024 Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Yesenia Fierro conducted an unannounced annual required inspection and was met by Licensee, Stella Tamez. LPA explained the reason for the visit. Also present were Staff #1 (S1) Michaela Tamez and Staff (S2) Alyssa Ortiz. LPA Fierro confirmed days and hours of operation are Monday through Thursday from 6:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. and Fridays from 7:00 a.m.- 4:30 p.m. The home has a working telephone service and LPA Fierro confirmed the phone number is (559) 367-1195. All adults who reside or work in the home have a criminal record clearance or exemption. There are no excluded individuals present at this home.
LPA Fierro conducted a census, during today’s inspection there were 13 children in care, capacity as specified on the license is being maintained. During LPA Fierro arrival some children were having breakfast and others were having free play.
A current facility sketch was reviewed, and Licensee confirmed that bedroom 2, bedroom 3, hallway, hallway bathroom, and backyard are used for providing care and are accessible to children. All other rooms are off-limits and made inaccessible by use of door spinners and safety gates. This is a single-story home. LPA observed the home to be clean and organized. Materials and surfaces accessible to children are clean and in operable condition. The inside of the home has age-appropriate toys and play equipment. LPA observed the electric fireplace located in the living room is made inaccessible by glass door. Licensee stated that fireplace will not be in use during daycare hours. There is a working fire extinguisher, smoke detector, carbon monoxide detector and adequate heating and ventilation for safety and comfort. LPA observed licensee test the smoke detector and carbon monoxide. Licensee understands to test both smoke detector and carbon monoxide periodically for functionality.
