On 9/22/2023, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Stephanie Vega-Gonzalez conducted an unannounced Case Management that Licensee initiated on this date. LPA met with Licensee, Lorena Magana and explained the reason for the inspection. Also present was Assistant 1. A census was taken and there were 7 children present in care.

The purpose of this case management is to inspect a door that was installed to the Kids Room on 9/16/2023 that led to the front side yard. Licensee submitted an updated LIC994A Facility Sketch to the Department on 9/21/2023. Licensee informed LPA that parents and guardians will drop off children and pick up children from Kids Room door that is located in the front side yard.

LPA reviewed facility sketch and it was observed that children have access to Kids Room, Hallway Bathroom, Living Room, Dinning area, Kitchen, and Front Yard. There is a built-in swimming pool and spa in the backyard which is fenced and made inaccessible. The pool gate is self-latching, self-closing and opens away from the swimming pool. No windows or doors have direct access to the pool area. LPA observed that Kids Room door is located in the front side yard that is shaded by a patio with a plastic tarp. LPA observed that all required posting are posted outside by the Kids Room door. LPA observed various appropriate toys and play structures in the front yard that is shaded by cloth tarps. LPA did not observe any hazards. Licensee ensures that children in care are supervised at all times.

Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with licensee Lorena Magana. During the exit interview, the licensee Lorena Magana confirmed that there are no Registered Sex Offenders living in the facility.

Per Title 22, Division 12, Chapter 3, of the California Code of Regulations, no deficiencies are cited.

Licensee Lorena Magana was provided appeal rights.

This report shall be made available to the public upon request.

LIC 9213 Notice of Site Visit is provided and required to be posted for 30 days.
