25 | On 02/06/25, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Martha De Haro, conducted an unannounced Annual Random Inspection and was met by Licensee, Tessa Mize. Assistant #1 was also present. The home has working telephone service and LPA confirmed the phone number is (559) 907-9155. Licensee’s hours of operation are 6:30 am to 4:00 pm, Monday through Friday.
LPA toured the home inside and outside and a census was taken. Current facility sketch reviewed and Licensee confirmed that the kitchen, family room, sun room, hall bathroom, and front yard are used for providing care and are accessible to children. All other rooms are off-limits and made inaccessible by use of plastic door spinners or baby gates. This is a single story home and there are no stairs in the home. The outdoor play area is located in the front of the home. It is fenced and there are no hazards to children present. LPA inspected the new climbing structure, which was found to be safe. The above ground swimming pool, which is located on the side yard, is fenced per regulation. Licensee added extended fencing around the above ground pool, which increased the height of the pool to over 5 feet tall and removed the ladder. No windows or doors have direct access to the pool area. Licensee stated that there are no firearms and/or ammunition in the home. All poisons are kept in a locked storage area. No poisons were observed during the inspection. Detergents, cleaning compounds, medication and other hazardous items are made inaccessible.
The home has a fireplace, located in the family room. It is covered by furniture and not used during daycare hours. There are no open faced heaters in the home. There is a working fire extinguisher, smoke detector, carbon monoxide detector and adequate heating and ventilation for safety and comfort. Safe toys and play equipment are observed. There are 2 small dogs in the home. Licensee understands the liability of pets around day care children and accepts responsibilities of any action taken by pets.
