25 | On March 15, 2023, at 11 AM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Jo Ann Legaspi conducted an unannounced Annual Required Inspection and met with the Licensee Sylvia Verdugo. LPA disclosed the purpose of the inspection and was granted facility entry by the Licensee. The Licensee, a helper and five (5) children were present in the facility during this inspection. This facility is a two (2) story, five (5) bedroom, three (3) bathroom house. Licensee accompanied LPA during this inspection. The following areas used for childcare are: two (2) downstairs bedrooms, one (1) downstairs bathroom, the family room, the dining room, and the fenced and shaded backyard. The off limit areas are the living room, kitchen, washroom, garage, and top floor. Stairs to the top floor are barricaded. Kitchen cabinets have cabinet locks. The living room is barricaded with safety gates. The doors to the washroom and garage have door locks.
The fire extinguishers, smoke detector, and carbon monoxide detector met requirements. Hazardous items were observed inaccessible to children during this inspection. The Licensee has available toys, play equipment and materials. Children play outside in the fenced and shaded backyard for outdoor activities. Licensee was reminded that continuous supervision is to be given to children whenever engaged in outdoor activities. No bodies of water were observed on the premises during the inspection. Firearms are appropriately stored as required by regulation.
First Aid and CPR certifications for both the Licensee and the helper expire in June 2023. Licensee and the helper have required immunizations. Both the Licensee and helper completed the Mandated Reporter Training on 03/14/2023. The facility roster is maintained and was reviewed. The last fire and disaster drills were conducted and documented on 01/05/2023.
Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or |
