25 | On August 14, 2024, at 10:30 a.m., Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Gloria Gonzalez conducted an unannounced an Annual/Random Inspection and met with Licensee, Claudia Briseno. LPA disclosed the purpose of the inspection and was granted entry into the facility by the Licensee. Three (3) daycare children and Licensee's spouse, as a helper, were present in the facility during this inspection. This facility is a two story, 5 bedroom, 3 bathroom house. Licensee accompanied LPA inside and out of the facility during this inspection. The following areas used for child care are: living room, dining room, family room, kitchen, playroom, downstairs bathroom, laundry room, and backyard. Off limit areas are all of upstairs, (4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms), and part of garage/storage room and are inaccessible through use of door locks and a safety gate. Hours of operation are: Monday-Sunday 5:00 am-12:00am.
Licensee submitted documentation that states the garage was converted to an additional one bedroom and one bathroom. Licensee also stated a bathroom was added that has access from the backyard. Licensee stated these new areas will not be used for daycare use and are made inaccessible by a door lock. A Fire Clearance is still pending.
The fire extinguisher, smoke detector, and carbon monoxide detector met requirements. Hazardous items were not made inaccessible to children during this inspection. LPA observed detergents in the laundry room and PVC cement in the hallway bathroom. The licensee has toys, play equipment and materials available. The home has a fenced backyard available for outdoor activities at time of inspection. The upstairs is not used and is gated off at the bottom of the stairway and the Licensee understands the gate must be in place when children under five years are present during day care hours. This facility has an inground pool that is surrounded by a wrought iron fence, with self-latching, self-closing gate that swings away from the pool and meets Title 22 requirements. Licensee stated there are no weapons in the home. A review of staff records on this date indicates that all facility staff or other individuals who require caregiver background checks have received criminal record and child abuse clearances. |
