25 | On September 27, 2024, at 1:00 p.m., Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Gloria Gonzalez conducted an unannounced Annual/Random Inspection and met with Licensee's, Leonor and Guadalupe Velasco. LPA disclosed the purpose of the inspection and was granted entry into the facility by the Licensee. Three (3) daycare children and no staff members were present in the facility during this inspection.
Licensee submitted documentation to add a porch on the right side of the home facing the front of the home and a part of the backyard. The department received a granted Fire Clearance on 9/6/24. The added porch and other portion of backyard was inspected and is ready to be used as of todays inspection 9/27/24.
This facility is a two story, 4 bedroom, 5 bathroom house. Licensee Leonor accompanied LPA inside and out of the facility during this inspection. The following areas used for child care are: living room, family room, dining room, kitchen, downstairs bathroom, and entire backyard. Off limits areas are garage, bathroom in garage, guest room and guest bathroom in the backyard, and all of upstairs (4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms) and are inaccessible through use of door knob covers, door locks, and a safety gate. Hours of operation are: Monday - Sunday from 6:00 am to 11:00 pm.
The fire extinguisher, smoke detector, and carbon monoxide detector met requirements. Hazardous items were made inaccessible to children during the inspection. The licensee has toys, play equipment and materials available. The home has a fenced backyard available for outdoor activities at time of inspection. The upstairs is not used and is gated off at the bottom of the stairway and the Licensee understands the gate must be in place when children under five years are present during day care hours. No bodies of water observed on the premises during the inspection. Licensee stated there are no weapons in the home. A review of staff records on this date indicates that all facility staff or other individuals who require caregiver background checks have received criminal record and child abuse clearances. |
