25 | On January 5, 2024 at 10:45 a.m., Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Gloria Gonzalez conducted an unannounced Required Annual Inspection and met with Staff Member, Marisela Martinez and Licensee, Yulisa Canales arrived about 11:00 am. LPA disclosed the purpose of the inspection and was granted entry into the facility by the Licensee. Eight (8) daycare children and one (1) staff member was present in the facility during this inspection. This facility is a one story, 3 bedroom, 3 bathroom house. Licensee accompanied LPA inside and out of the facility during this inspection. This is a corrected use than the last annual. Licensee will use the following areas for child care: living room, kitchen, dining room, hallway bathroom #1, bedroom #1, 2 daycare rooms in converted garage, bathroom #3 in daycare rooms, and backyard. Off limits areas include: bedroom #2 and #3, and bathroom #2.
The fire extinguisher, smoke detector, and carbon monoxide detector met requirements. Hazardous items were made inaccessible to children during the inspection. The licensee has toys, play equipment and materials available. The home has a fenced backyard available for outdoor activities at time of inspection. No bodies of water observed on the premises during the inspection. Licensee stated there are no weapons in the home. A review of staff records on this date indicates that all facility staff or other individuals who require caregiver background checks have received criminal record and child abuse clearances.
Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.
Licensee’s First Aid and CPR certification expires on 3/2024. Licensee has required immunizations. Staff #1 did not have proof of immunization's. Licensee completed Mandated Reporter Training on 5/31/22. Facility roster is maintained and was reviewed. The last fire and disaster drills were conducted and documented on 7/11/23. |
