On June 22, 2023, at 11:35 a.m., Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), D. Sanchez, conducted an unannounced Annual Required Inspection and met with the Licensee, Priscilla Beltran. LPA disclosed the purpose of the inspection was also in response to the increase of capacity request and was granted entry into the facility by the Licensee. No children were present in the facility during this inspection. This facility is a single story, four bedroom, 2.5 bathroom house. Licensee accompanied LPA inside and out of the facility during this inspection. The following areas used for child care are: Den, living room, dining room, family room and hallway bathroom. Off limits areas are: all bedrooms, kitchen, laundry room, garage and back yard and are inaccessible through use of door knob protection. Provider told LPA that she would like to open the outside side hallway yard located next to the family room for daycare purposes. LPA inspected the side hallway yard and is approved to be use by daycare children for outside activities.

The fire extinguisher, smoke detector, and carbon monoxide detector met requirements. All hazardous items were inaccessible to children. The storage area for poisons is locked. The licensee has toys, play equipment and materials available. The home has a fenced side yard available for outdoor activities. No bodies of water observed on the premises during the inspection. Provider advised LPA that she is planning to place an above the ground pool in the backyard. LPA provided licensee the required fencing regulation needed in order to place the above the ground pool. LPA also advised provider that she is to notify the San Diego Child Care Regional Office (SDCCRO) when pool and fencing is installed for inspection. Licensee stated there are no weapons in the home. A review of staff records on this date indicates that all facility staff or other individuals who require caregiver background checks have received criminal record and child abuse clearances or exemptions. Licensee’s First Aid and CPR certifications expire on 2/2024. Licensee has required immunizations. Licensee completed Mandated Reporter Training on 4/19/2022. Facility roster is maintained and was reviewed. The last fire and disaster drills were conducted and documented on 05/2023.
