25 | On June 24, 2024, at 11:15 AM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Luigi Gargaro, conducted an unannounced annual required inspection and met with the licensee, Maricela Grijalva. LPA disclosed the purpose of the inspection and was granted entry into the facility by the Licensee. Five (5) children, Ms. Grijalva and her cleared and associated assistant, Brenda Martinez, were present in the facility during this inspection. This facility is a two floor, four bedroom, three bathroom house. Licensee accompanied LPA inside and out of the facility during this inspection.
The following areas used for child care are: the kitchen, the dining room, the living room, the family/primary day care room, the day care play room and the day care bathroom all located on the first floor of the home. Off limits areas are garage and the second floor of the home. The garage is made inaccessible with a door knob cover installed on the door handle and a door lock while the upstairs is made inaccessible with a secured safety gate that is installed at the bottom of the home staircase.
The fire extinguisher, smoke detector, and carbon monoxide detector met requirements. All hazardous items were inaccessible to children. The licensee has toys, play equipment and materials available. The home has a fenced backyard available for outdoor activities. No bodies of water observed on the premises during the inspection. Licensee stated there are no weapons in the home. A review of staff records on this date indicates that all facility staff or other individuals who require caregiver background checks have received criminal record and child abuse clearances or exemptions.
Licensee’s First Aid and CPR certifications expire in October of 2024 while her assistant's expire in November of 2024. Licensee and her assistant both have all of their required immunizations. Licensee completed Mandated Reporter Training on 10/19/23 and her assistant received her most recent certification on 05/23/24. Facility roster is maintained and was reviewed. The last fire and disaster drills were conducted and documented on 05/20/24. Licensee currently has no infants in care but confirmed she is aware of the existing infant safe sleep regulations. |
