25 | On 12/10/2025 at approximately 1:20 pm, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Julieta Abrego conducted a case management visit and met with the Licensee, Sandra Suarez. LPA notified the licensee that the purpose of the inspection was for a follow-up inspection of the newly installed in-ground pool that was installed in June 2025. The licensee led LPA on a tour of the facility. There were four (4) children present at the facility during the time of the inspection.
The facility is a single-story, three bedroom, two bathroom home. Areas used for daycare include the living room, dining room, kitchen, bathroom #2, playroom, and the backyard. Off-limit areas are bedroom #1, bedroom #2, master bedroom, master bathroom, laundry room and the garage. The licensee will use the backyard for outdoor play and is fully fenced.
During the initial visit on 08/29/2025, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) A. Castellon observed that the pool fence height did not meet the regulations. Gap between rails was more than 4 inches and locking mechanism was not above 60 inches from the ground.
During today’s inspection, the LPA observed that the pool fence has been installed and meets all regulatory requirements. The fence has a minimum height of 60 inches and a maximum vertical clearance of 2 inches from the ground to the bottom of the enclosure. It has no gaps that would allow the passage of a sphere with a diameter of 4 inches or greater and is free of protrusions, cavities, or other physical characteristics that could serve as handholds or footholds for a child to climb over. The access gate swings away from the pool and is equipped with a self-latching, key lockable device located no lower than 60 inches above the ground. The pool area is securely enclosed and inaccessible to children in care.
