25 | On March 5, 2025, at 09:10 a.m., Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Jacqueline Macias conducted an unannounced Annual Random Inspection and met with Licensee, Ana Palacios Torres. LPA disclosed the purpose of the inspection and was granted entry into the facility by the Licensee. Also present in the home during this inspection was Licensee’s Spouse Joel Olguin and four (4) infant daycare children. This facility is a two story, four (4) bedroom, three (3) bathroom house. Licensee accompanied LPA inside and out of the facility during this inspection. The following areas used for child care are: kitchen, dining room, family living room, half of the backyard, and the bathroom located on the first floor. Off limits areas are Laundry room, garage, and bedrooms #1-4 & bathrooms #2, #3 on the second floor. The laundry room and the garage are both made off limits with doorknob covers that are installed on their respective entry door handles. The second floor of the home is made off limits with a secured child safety gate that is installed at the bottom of the home staircase. Hours of operation are: Monday- Sunday 5:00am to 11:59 pm.
The fire extinguisher, smoke detector, and carbon monoxide detector were inspected and met requirements. Hazardous items were made inaccessible to children during the inspection. The licensee has toys, play equipment and materials available. The home has a fenced backyard that Licensee has separated into two parts. One side for personal use and the other side for daycare use. One section of the backyard is inaccessible by a secured fence. Licensee states she provides direct supervision at all times when children are conducting outside activities. The upstairs is not used and is gated off at the bottom of the stairway and the Licensee stated she understands the gate must be in place when children under five years are present during day care hours. Licensee states there are no bodies of water on the premises and LPA did not observe any bodies of water during the inspection. Licensee stated there are no weapons in the home. A review of staff records on this date indicates that all facility staff and other individuals who require caregiver background checks have received criminal record and child abuse clearances. |
