| cleaning compounds, medications and other hazardous items are stored in a locked cabinet and made inaccessible to children by way of cabinet latches/locks and/or placed on high surfaces. Licensee utilizes the east side yard for outdoor activities. Licensee stated she and her assistants provide direct supervision at all times when children are conducting any outside activities.
Licensee has an ample amount of children's toys, age appropriate outdoor play structures, play equipment, books, electronic games and non-toxic child safe arts & crafts materials available. The Licensee has a working cell phone. Licensee stated there are no firearms, other weapons, or ammunition in the home.
Facility roster is maintained and was reviewed. LPA reviewed a sample of five (5) children’s files. Children’s files reviewed were complete and met regulations.
A review of staff records on this date indicates that all facility staff or other individuals who require caregiver background checks have received criminal record and child abuse clearances or exemptions.
Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living in the home, persons who provide care and supervision to children, and staff who have contact with children, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30-days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.
Licensee's Mandated Reporter AB1207 training expires 07/11/2027. Pediatric CPR and First Aid certifications expire on 02/2027. The last fire and disaster drills were conducted and documented on 06/16/2026 and 7/10/26 respectively. Licensee provided proof of control of property.
Licensee was advised if there is to be an infant in care, there must be one crib or play yard for each infant who is unable to climb out of the crib or play yard. Cribs or play yards are free from all loose articles and objects. Licensee physically checks on sleeping infants up to 24 months of age every 15 minutes. An Individual Infant Sleep Log is maintained for each infant and was reviewed.
An Individual Infant Sleeping Plan [LIC 9227 (3/20)] is maintained for each infant up to 12 months of age. Licensee states she places infants up to 12 months of age on their backs for sleeping.
