32 | Physical Plant: The daycare areas are the living room, dining room, kitchen, den, bathroom next to the den. Licensee does provide food for the children. Licensee is in the food program. The children can bring packed lunches and snacks. Those lunch boxes that don’t have ice packs are placed in the refrigerator for the children in care. The home was inspected inside and out for safety, comfort, cleanliness, telephone service, heating and ventilation, inaccessibility to poisons, detergents, cleaning compounds, medicines, and hazardous items that can pose a danger to children. The window blind cords are inaccessible to children. There are three dogs, eight cats, and one tortoise on premises that do interact with the children. Licensee states all pets are current on their vaccinations. There is a working landline and cell phone, always charged and kept with licensee. There are age-appropriate toys and equipment on the premises. The First Aid kit included a temperature thermometer, tweezer, scissors, gauzes, and cleansing pads/solution was observed to be complete and inaccessible to children kept high in hallway cabinet near kitchen with safety latch. LPA informed licensee that since she has a large capacity daycare, the facility is required to have a singe action door handle on the two main exits and requires a fire pull system.
Napping: Children are provided napping when needed. Licensee has one play pen and couch current for napping. Licensee states that when she has several children, she will bring out the cots to be used. Eight cots are stored in the garage. Two additional play pens are stored in closet and garage.
Transportation: The licensee does not provide transportation. Licensee and her assistant will walk to the school to pick up the children. |
