25 | On 02/24/22 Licensing Program Analysts (LPA) Araceli Gibson, conducted an unannounced annual inspection. LPA met with Teacher Christina Austin and Director Angie Esparza. This preschool has two separate classroom and play yards. LPA toured the facility, both indoors and outdoors to inspect areas accessible to children in care.
HOURS OF OPERATION: Year round services Monday through Friday; AM Session 07:30 AM to 5:30 PM Lunches are provided by their authorized representative and snacks are provided by the facility.
There is no swimming pool or other bodies of water on the premises. There are no firearms or ammunition allowed or stored on the premises. Disinfectants, cleaning solutions, medication and other hazardous items are made inaccessible. No poisons were observed during the inspection.
Playground and furniture equipment is in safe condition, free of sharp, loose or pointed parts. LPA observed an indoor area in an entry way in need of repair (see 809D) for further. The surface of the outdoor activity space is maintained in a safe condition. LPA discussed with the director as a best practice to do a daily walk through of the play yard to maintain a clean and safe play yard for the children. All toilets and handwashing facilities are in safe and sanitary operating condition. Floors in the facility are clean and safe. All kitchen, food preparation and storage areas are clean, free of litter/rubbish and free of rodents/vermin. All food is protected against contamination and any contaminated food is discarded immediately. Solid waste storage containers have tight-fitting covers and are in good repair. Drinking water is available both indoors and outdoors. Areas around high climbing equipment, swings and slides have cushioning material to absorb falls. The facility is free of flies, insects and rodents. Facility has one or more functioning carbon monoxide detectors that meet statutory requirements.
Before working or volunteering in a licensed child care facility, all individuals subject to a criminal record review have a clearance or exemption. There are no excluded individuals present at this center. Licensee is aware that upon notice from the Department, any excluded individual must be immediately removed from the center.
