Assembly Bill 2370, Chapter 676, Statutes of 2018 requires all Child Care Centers (CCCs) that are located in buildings constructed before January 1, 2010, to test their drinking water for lead contamination by January 1, 2023 and every 5 years thereafter. This facility has provided evidence of completed water testing for samples collected on December 28, 2022. This facility has tested for an ALE of lead from 11 outlets where children consume water. Analysis was received on January 4, 2023 revealing ALE for 1 of 11 sources tested. The ALE was recorded at 10.5 PPB (parts per billion) and was discovered in classroom #6. Upon notification, the facility has ceased use of the water bubbler where elevated lead levels were detected and then had it permanently removed and caped off to prevent any future use.
There is a body of water in the form of a man-made creek that runs through the center of the property. Facility understands that children shall be supervised at all times while escorted near the body of water. There are no firearms or ammunition allowed or stored on the premises. Disinfectants, cleaning solutions, medication and other hazardous items are made inaccessible. No poisons were observed during the inspection.
Furniture and equipment are in good condition, free of sharp, loose or pointed parts. Playground equipment is in safe condition, free of sharp, loose or pointed parts.
