25 | On August 11, 2023 Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Kari McWilliams conducted an announced case management inspection that was initiated by the Licensee and met with Coordinator Storiann Camps. The purpose of todays inspection was to approve a brand new preschool classroom and outside play area.
The classroom has a separate teachers office and two in class bathrooms with a toilet and sink in each bathroom. There is also a handwashing sink in the classroom. The classroom has three tables set for 24 children. The center will continue to be a half day program and children will not be napping during the time they are in the class. Toys and play equipment that are age appropriate and in good repair are observed. There are 36 cubbies observed for the classroom; the facility only has 16 children enrolled in each classroom which will provide enough cubbies for each child to have their own. Facility has one or more functioning carbon monoxide detectors. Floors in the facility are clean and safe. Solid waste storage containers have tight-fitting covers and are in good repair.
The AM class will have breakfast served in the cafeteria on the school grounds and the PM class will have lunch served in the cafeteria. Snacks are not provided.
Drinking water is provided by a water fountain inside the classroom and bottled water is provided for the children during outside activity play. Assembly Bill (AB) 2370, Chapter 676, Statutes of 2018, requires all licensed Child Care Centers (CCCs) constructed before January 1, 2010, to test their water (used for drinking and food preparation) for lead contamination before January 1, 2023, and then every 5-years after the date of the first test. For child care center licenses issued after July 1, 2022, the licensee shall test their water for lead within 180 days of licensure pursuant to Written Directives section 101700 (PIN 21-21.1- CCP). this facility was constructed after January 1, 2010 and the facility will provide an attestation letter.
