25 | On 11/06/24, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Denisia Jimenez arrived at the facility to conduct an unannounced Case Management inspection. LPA met with Director, Ashely Herrera. LPA toured the classrooms, and a census was taken. The purpose of today's inspection was regarding an unusual incident that was reported to the Fresno Childcare Regional Office on 10/09/24. On 10/09/24 Child #1 kept standing on its cot after nap time. Teacher #1 had told Child #1 to sit down but would get up and continue to stand on its cot. Teacher #1 had just turned around when Child #1 slipped from its cot and hit it’s face on the children’s table causing his lip and tooth to bleed. Director administered first aid to child and contacted their parent. Mother picked up child and no medical treatment was required. Director stated that parent pulled child #1 out of the center 2 weeks ago, but it had nothing to do with the incident. LPA and Director discussed facility policies and procedures.
This appears to be an isolated incident and staff took appropriate measures to address the staff, following appropriate policies, regulations, and reporting requirements.
Per Title 22, Division 12, Chapter 1, of the California Code of Regulations, no deficiencies are cited.
Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with Director, Ashely Herrera. Appeal rights were provided.
This report is to be made available to the public upon request. LIC 9213 Notice of Site Visit to be posted for 30 days.
