The center is on the campus of Bakersfield College located at 1801 Panorama Dr. in Bakersfield 93305. Licensee is requesting to include Toddler Option on the Preschool License. The requested capacity is a total of 215 children that include 183 Preschool children ages 2-6 and 32 children enrolled in the Toddler option, ages 18 months to 36 months. Days and hours of operation are 7:30 AM - 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday.. Children get brought into the reception area where staff conduct temperature checks and then get escorted to their classroom. Ill children and staff will utilize the bathroom located on the first floor. Isolation room is located in Office area for Ill children. Children enrolled in Preschool program will occupy Rooms 1, 2, 35, 36, 301 and 302. Children enrolled in the Toddler option will occupy Rooms 401A, 401B, 402A and 402B Measurements of indoor activity space for Preschool program and Toddler option were taken and reviewed with Director. The total usable square footage for Preschool program is approximately 6.293 which will accommodate the requested capacity of 183 Preschool children. There is a total of 15 toilets and 15 sinks/hand washing fixtures which will accommodate the requested capacity of 183 Preschool children. The approximate outside square footage for the Preschool program is 19,197 which will accommodate requested capacity of 183 Preschool children. The Preschool outside play area is fenced and gated all around. LPA observed age appropriate toys, a bike path and swings. There are no structures in Preschool outside play area. Measurements of indoor activity space for Toddler option were taken and reviewed with Director. The total usable square footage for Toddler option is approximately 2.259 which will accommodate the requested capacity of 32 children enrolled in Toddler option. There is a total of 3 toilets and 6 sinks/hand washing fixtures which will accommodate the requested capacity of 32 children enrolled in Toddler option. LPA observed 4 changing tables in restroom between Rooms 401A and 402B.

The approximate outside square footage for the toddler option is 5,616 which will accommodate requested capacity of 32 children enrolled in Toddler option. The Toddler option outside play area is fenced and gated all around. LPA observed age appropriate toys. There are no structures in Toddler option outside play area.

A fire clearance of 215 preschool children with Toddler option was approved & granted by the Bakersfield City Fire Department on 08/19/2022.

LPA discussed the safe sleep regulations with Director and discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep webpage at https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/child-care-licensing/public-information-and-resources/safe-sleep as an additional resource.

Pending a final file review and completion of above items, a recommendation will be made to license the above facility for the requested capacity of 215 children that include 183 Preschool children ages 2-6 and 32 children enrolled in the Toddler option, ages 18 months to 36 months.

Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with Rosita Barron, Director.
