25 | On October 5, 2023 Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Kari McWilliams and Claribel Soto conducted an unannounced case management visit and met with Director Rosita Barron. LPAs discussed the reason for the inspection was due to an incident that was reported to the Department on September 11, 2023. LPAs toured the facility inside and out, a census was taken.
On September 11, 2023 it was reported to the Department that an incident occurred on September 7, 2023 that Child #1 (C1) was cold in the classroom and staff put an extra jacket on C1. C1 then went outside for outdoor play time in 93 degree weather and kept the jacket on, causing C1 to overheat and come down with a fever. C1 was taken to the doctor over the weekend. A written unusual incident report was sent into the Department on September 15, 2023.
On September 15, 2023 Director Barron conducted a staff training B.C. CDE Transition/Safety Training and sent the power point presentation and staff sign in to the Department on the same day. During today's inspection Director confirmed that all staff have been trained on the transition policy inside and out of the classrooms. During LPAs inspection today LPAs did not observe any issues regarding transitions.
Director Barron confirmed that C1 has returned to the center.
Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with Director Barron.
Per Title 22, Division 12, Chapter 1, of the California Code of Regulations, no deficiencies are cited.
