| On 01/29/2025 Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Denisia Jimenez conducted an unannounced Annual Random Inspection and was met by licensee, Rebecca Espinoza. Days and hours of operation are Monday through Friday 5:45 AM to 5:45 PM and other hours as arranged.
LPA toured the home inside and outside and a census was taken. LPA reviewed current facility sketch and confirmed the day care room, day care bathroom, and backyard are used for providing care and are accessible to children. All other rooms are off-limits and made inaccessible using a divider door and doorknob spinners. Currently, the backyard will be made inaccessible.
There is a built-in swimming pool in the backyard which is fenced and made inaccessible. The pool gate is self-latching, self-closing and opens away from the swimming pool. No windows or doors have direct access to the pool area. Licensee has alarm sensors on both French doors that are accessible to the backyard where the built-in swimming pool is located. The licensee has not complied with the new pool safety regulation requirements. LPA will issue a Type B citation.
There are no firearms or ammunition on the premises. No poisons were observed during the inspection. Detergents, cleaning compounds, medication and other hazardous items are made inaccessible.
There is one fireplace in the home located in the living room and is made inaccessible by a glass door and will not be in use during daycare hours. There is a working fire extinguisher, smoke detector, carbon monoxide detector and adequate heating and ventilation for safety and comfort.
This is a single level home and there are no stairs. Safe toys and play equipment are observed. The home has working telephone service and LPA confirmed the phone number is (661) 303-8358.
Licensee ensures that children in care are supervised at all times and is aware children shall not be left in parked vehicles. The outdoor play area in the backyard is fenced and there are no hazards to children present. Capacity as specified on the license is being maintained.
