25 | On 07/19/2024 Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Christopher Burnias and Xona Xayavong conducted an Unannounced Annual Random Inspection and was met by licensee Molly Caswell-Mears. Days and hours of operation are Monday through Friday from 6:45 AM to 5:00 PM.
LPA toured the home inside and outside and a census was taken. LPA reviewed current facility sketch and confirmed that den, sitting room, master bedroom, family room, kitchen, nook, day care room, Room #3, and Bathroom #1 are used for providing care and are accessible to children. During inspection, Licensee stated that she wishes to make a second restroom accessible to children. Upon Inspecting the restroom, LPA determined that the restroom did not have any hazards present, and the restroom has been approved for use. Licensee provided an updated facility sketch to reflect the added restroom. All other rooms are off-limits and made inaccessible by use of a baby gate.
There is a built-in swimming pool in the backyard which is fenced and made inaccessible. The pool gate is self-latching, self-closing and opens away from the swimming pool. No windows or doors have direct access to the pool area.
All firearms and ammunition are stored and locked separately. No poisons were observed during the inspection. Detergents, cleaning compounds, medication and other hazardous items are made inaccessible.
There is one fireplace in the home located in the family room room and is made inaccessible by a glass door and will not be in use during daycare hours. There is a working fire extinguisher, smoke detector, carbon monoxide detector and adequate heating and ventilation for safety and comfort.
This is a single level home and there are no stairs. Safe toys and play equipment are observed. The home has working telephone service and LPA confirmed the phone number is (661) 319-5095.
