LPAs toured the home, inside and outside, and conducted a census. Review of the facility sketch confirmed that the kitchen, dining room, living room, bathroom, and backyard are used for providing care and are accessible to children. All other rooms are off-limits and made inaccessible with a baby gate.

There is no swimming pool or other bodies of water on the premises. LPAs observed no firearms or ammunition in the home. No poisons were observed during the inspection. Detergents, cleaning compounds, medications, and other hazardous items are stored so they are inaccessible to children.

There are no fireplaces or open-face heaters. The home is equipped with a working fire extinguisher, smoke detector, carbon monoxide detector, and provides adequate heating and ventilation for safety and comfort. This is a single-level home with no stairs. The home contains safe toys and play equipment. LPAs verified that the home has working telephone service and confirmed the phone number.

The licensee ensures that children are supervised at all times and understands that children shall not be left in parked vehicles. The fenced backyard provides an outdoor play area, and LPAs observed no hazards. Capacity as specified on the license is being maintained.

• Type A deficiencies are violations of licensing requirements that, if not corrected, have a direct and immediate risk to the health, safety, or personal rights of persons in care.

• Type B deficiencies are violations of licensing requirements that, without correction, could become a risk to the health, safety, or personal rights of persons in care, a recordkeeping violation that could impact the care of said persons and/or protection of their resources, or a violation that could impact those services required to meet the needs of persons in care.

LPAs discussed the Community Care Licensing website at www.ccld.ca.gov, which provides access to forms, regulations, Provider Information Notices (PINs), and Quarterly Updates. LPAs also reviewed Reporting Requirements as outlined in Section 102416.2 of Title 22 regulations.

LPAs reminded the licensee that all adults 18 years or older living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer an existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in the Family Child Care Home, as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871. Failure to comply will result in a civil penalty of $100.00 per day, for a maximum of 5 days, or 30 days for repeat violations, per person.

LPAs also discussed checking the CPSC website at https://www.cpsc.gov/ for recalled infant devices and recommended registering infant equipment with the CPSC to receive recall notifications.

LPAs discussed Incidental Medical Services (IMS). For IMS information, the licensee may review PIN 22-02-CCP. When any IMS is provided, a Plan for Providing IMS must be submitted to the Department. LPAs provided ADA information, including the USDOJ ADA Information Line at (800) 514-0301 (voice) and (800) 514-0383 (TTY), and the publication “Commonly Asked Questions about Child Care Centers and the ADA” available at:

Licensee was informed of the MyChildCarePlan.org consumer education website, which connects families to child care providers and Resource and Referral Agencies throughout California.

An exit interview was conducted with Licensee Eileen Cardona. During the exit interview, the licensee confirmed that no Registered Sex Offenders reside in the facility, and LPAs verified the RSO profile in FAS.

Per Title 22, Division 12, no deficiencies were cited today. The licensee was provided appeal rights. This report must be made available to the public upon request. LIC 9213 Notice of Site Visit was provided and is required to be posted for 30 days.
