On October 11, 2023 an unannounced Annual inspection was conducted today by Licensing Program Analyst, (LPA) Paul Garcia. LPA met with assistant Director, Crystal Mallard and toured the facility, both indoors and outdoors. The LPA observed all required licensing forms to be posted in a visible location for authorized representatives to view. A census was taken and there were 0 day care children present. During the school year the PM session is from 1:00 PM to 6 PM depending on when the children are released. During school vacation snacks and meals are provided to the children and are eaten in gym. There is no swimming pool or other bodies of water on the premises.

Furniture and equipment are in good serviceable condition, free of sharp, loose or pointed parts. Floors in the facility are clean and safe. There is adequate heating and ventilation for safety and comfort. The facility has complete first aid kits, including bandages, scissor, thermometer, gloves and a first aid manual. All toilets and hand washing facilities are in safe and sanitary operating condition. Menus are posted at least one week in advance where an authorized representative can view them. All kitchen, food preparation and storage areas are clean, free of litter/rubbish. All foods/beverages capable of rapid spoiling are stored in covered containers at 40 (F) degrees or less. Drinking water is available both indoors and outdoors. Playground equipment is in safe condition, free of sharp, loose or pointed parts. The surface of the outdoor activity space is maintained and is free of hazards. Areas around high climbing equipment, swings and slides have cushioning material to absorb falls. Solid waste storage containers have tight-fitting covers and are in good repair. No poisons were observed during the inspection. Licensee is aware that poisons are required to be locked and inaccessible to children.

complete with health screening, immunization records for influenza, pertussis and measles and current documentation of completed mandated reporter training. Staff records contain documentation meeting qualification requirements. The name of the child care center director or fully-qualified teacher(s) designated to act in the director’s absence has been reported to the Department. This facility and parents utilize the Playground application (Playground is a digital application that allows parents to sign in and out their child , allows childcare providers to track attendance, share real-time photos, videos, and updates for families giving them a peek into the classroom by posting updates on-the-go.) to electronically sign in and out of the facility.

All children are under supervision, including visual supervision, of a teacher at all times. Capacity and limitations as specified on the license are being maintained. Firearms/weapons or ammunition are not allowed or stored on the premises. There is a working fire extinguisher, smoke detector, carbon monoxide indicator, that meet statutory requirements. This facility does have at least one person trained in CPR and first aid.

Incidental Medical Services (IMS are not currently being provided.

Criminal Record Clearance - Child Care Centers.

The licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. There are no excluded individuals present at this facility. Licensee is aware that upon notice from the Department, any excluded individual must be immediately removed from the facility and prevented from returning to the center or having contact with children in care. The licensee shall comply with the notice.

Assembly Bill 2370, Chapter 676, Statutes of 2018 requires all Child Care Centers (CCCs) that are located in buildings constructed before January 1, 2010 to test their drinking water for lead contamination by January 1, 2023 and every 5 years thereafter. This facility has provided evidence of completed water testing for samples collected on December 28, 2022. This facility has tested for an ALE of lead from 11 outlets that children consume water. Analysis was received on January 4, 2023 revealing an action level exceedance(ALE) for 1 of 11 sources tested. The ALE was recorded at 10.5 PPB (parts per billion) and was discovered in classroom #6. Upon notification, the facility has ceased use of the water bubbler where elevated lead levels were detected and immediately had it permanently removed and caped off to prevent any future use.

MyChildCarePlan.org – Centers and Family Child Care Homes

Licensee was informed of the MyChildCarePlan.org website; a consumer education website that helps families obtain child care by connecting them to child care providers and Resource and Referral Agencies (R&Rs) throughout California.
