25 | On 4/5/2022, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Jessika Thompson conducted a Case Management Inspection. LPA met with Teacher Brenda Castillo. A tour of the facility was made and a census was taken. The purpose of this visit was to address a violation of Title 22 Regulations.
Today, upon arrival, LPA observed Teacher Brenda Castillo, Staff #2(Teacher), and Staff #3 (Teacher's Aide) caring for a total of 21 children. At approximately 1:20 PM, Teacher Castillo left the preschool classroom and began solely caring for children in the school age program, leaving Staff #2 and Staff #3 to care for 21 children. The facility was found to be out of compliance, as one teacher and one teacher's aide can only care for up to 15 children, or up to a maximum of 18 children when the aide meets the qualifications specified in Section 101216.2.
Additionally, it has been found that although Staff #3 has obtained criminal background clearance, she is not associated to the child care center license as required by the Department.
The following is cited per Title 22 Division 12 of the California Code of Regulations (see LIC809-D).
In exit interview Teacher Castillo was advised of appeals rights and was provided with Appeals Rights.
