13 | On 10/04/2024, Licensing Program Manager Scott Herring and Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Denisia Jimenez arrived at the facility to deliver investigation finding to the allegation. LPA met with Director Laurie Curbow. LPA took a census.
The investigation consisted of a review of records, observations, interviews, and an analysis of additional pertinent information obtained during the investigation. Regarding the allegation, it was determined that a newly hired staff with 11 children in the classroom opened the door to the playground that is also connected to the classroom. It was confirmed half of the children were at the playground and the other children were inside the classroom for approximately 40 minutes. The children were without immediate visual observation and supervision. Although, the staff was in between the door of the classroom and playground at times, they were not readily available to assist, care and meet the children’s needs.
Based upon observations and information gathered through interviews, the preponderance of evidence standard has been met, therefore the above allegation is found to be SUBSTANTIATED.
