25 | On 6/28/2023, an Informal Office Meeting was conducted at the Fresno Regional Child Care Office. In attendance at this meeting were Director Laurie Curbow, Assistant Director Candace Lujan, Licensing Program Analyst Jessika Thompson and Licensing Program Manager Susie Fanning. An Informal Office Meeting was previously conducted on 6/09/2020. The purpose of today's meeting was to discuss continued violations of Title 22 Regulations. The following issues/violations were discussed:
Type A Deficiencies:
- 6/08/2023- Assistant Director Candace Lujan self reported that a child was left unsupervised inside of a classroom for roughly 15 minutes. The child was discovered alone within the classroom by front office staff. A civil penalty of $500.00 was assessed.
- 5/20/2020 - It was substantiated that three individual incidents occurred at the facility where children in care were left without visual observation. One child was left in an adult bathroom without supervision. A second child was left in the outdoor play area without supervision. A third child was left on a play structure, in the outdoor play area, without supervision. A civil penalty of $500.00 was assessed.
- 5/20/2020- It was substantiated that staff used excessive force when grabbing a child who was attempting to run around a classroom within the facility.
- 2/27/2018- Director Curbow self reported that a child was left unsupervised in the outdoor play area for roughly twenty minutes. The child was discovered by a staff member who was taking another group of day-care children outside to play. A civil penalty of $500.00 was assessed.
Type B Deficiencies:
- 2/26/2020- It was substantiated that a child ran out of a classroom within the facility, unbeknownst to the attending staff member. The child was caught exiting the classroom by a staff member who happened to be walking by. A repeat civil penalty of $250.00 was assessed.
