25 | On September 28, 2023, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Paul Garcia conducted an unannounced Case Management inspection. LPA met with Site Supervisor (SS), Rosalva Banuelos. LPA Garcia toured the facility and took a census. The purpose of today’s inspection was to discuss an incident that was reported to Community Care Licensing (CCL) on September 18, 2023 where staff 1 was reported to have utilized forced to make child 1 take a nap by Staff 2. Staff 2 is the person who reported the incident to SS. This incident was reported to have occurred in Classroom 3 at approximately 12:00 PM.
LPA spoke to SS regarding the incident. Staff 1 has been put on Paid Administrative Leave effective September 18, 2023. This school district is actively moving forward with a complete internal investigation of this incident. An interview regarding the events which were reported to have taken place was conducted between LPA and SS.
Staff 2 was interviewed and given the opportunity to provide additional details of what she saw while in the classroom with Staff 1.
This facility took appropriate actions. This Facility will also voluntarily provide additional training to all their childcare staff to reenforce staffs knowledge in napping procedures.
Per Title 22, Division 12, Chapter 1, of the California Code of Regulations, no deficiencies are cited.
A notice of site visit was issued and must remain posted for 30 days.
