25 | On 09/08/2023, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Candis Rodriguez conducted a Case Management inspection at facility. LPA met with Co-Owner Ada Wallace, explained purpose of inspection, toured the facility, and took a census.
On 07/20/2023, facility reported to Community Care Licensing (CCL) that on 07/19/2023, Child #1 had asked another child to pull their pants down. Facility reported Teacher #1 heard the conversation and intervened to ensure the children did not touch each other. It was also reported that on 07/20/2023, Child #1 asked another child to come look at them in the restroom. Teacher #2 heard Child #1 ask the question and did not allow children to go into the restroom together. Teacher #2 asked Child #1 about what they were going to show the other child in the restroom, and Child #1 said, “maybe my pee-pee”. On the same date, Child #1 pointed at another child’s buttocks and attempted to touch the child, but Teacher #2 intervened and did not allow Child #1 to touch any children.
LPA interviewed Teacher #1. Teacher #1 stated they were able to intervene and ensure Child #1 did not touch any other children, or vice versa. Teacher #1 stated they have not witnessed any children inappropriately touching. Teacher #1 stated staff has been teaching all of the children about keeping their private parts private and the importance of keeping hands to themselves. Teacher #1 stated since then, there have not been any other incidents, as staff are aware and shadowing Child #1 to ensure personal rights of all children are not violated. (Teacher #2 was unable to be interviewed due to Teacher #2 no longer working for the facility.) LPA verified that facility followed all reporting requirements. LPA determined through interview that facility took appropriate measures to address the situation.
Per Title 22, Division 12, Chapter 3, of the California Code of Regulations, no deficiencies are cited. This report shall be made available to the public upon request. LIC 9213 Notice of Site Visit is provided and required to be posted for 30 days. Failure to comply with posting requirements shall result in an immediate civil penalty of $100. Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with Co-Owner.
