32 | Director submitted request for waiver to share playground with Toddler Option. The approximate outside square footage for the Toddler Option playground is 834 square feet, which will accommodate requested capacity of 18 Infant Children. The playground is fenced and gated all around. LPA observed age appropriate toys and little tykes play structure. There is a large patio cover to provide shade where children can rest and get water. LPA reminded Director to provide adequate supervision at all times and to not commingle Infant children with children enrolled in Toddler Option.
A fire clearance of 97 children that includes 54 Preschool children ages 2-6 with a Toddler Option of 25 children, ages 18 months to 36 month and 18 Infant children ages 0-2 was approved & granted by the City of Bakersfield Fire Department on 05/26/2022.
This facility does plan to provide Incidental Medical Services – IMS. For IMS information, see Evaluator Manual - Regulation Interpretations and Procedures for Child Care Centers Sections 101173 and 101226. A Plan of Operation that includes IMS must be submitted to the Department. Name was reminded that all adults 18 and over responsible for administration or direct supervision of staff, persons who provides care and supervision to children, and staff who have contact with children, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.
LPA discussed the safe sleep regulations with Director and discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep webpage at https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/child-care-licensing/public-information-and-resources/safe-sleep as an additional resource.
LPA also informed title, name, of the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at https://www.cpsc.gov/ and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment.
Pending a final file review and completion of above items, a recommendation will be made to license the above facility for the requested capacity of 18 Infant. |
