| On 07/17/2024 Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Christopher Burnias conducted an Unannounced Annual Random Inspection and was met by licensee Lashonda Smith. Also present was licensee’s assistants Tonisha Hall, and Candace Robertson. Days and hours of operation are Monday through Friday from 6:00 Am to 6:00 PM.
LPA toured the home inside and outside and a census was taken. LPA reviewed current facility sketch and confirmed that the kitchen, dining room, bathroom and day care room are used for providing care and are accessible to children. All other rooms are off-limits and made inaccessible by use of locks.
There is no swimming pool or other bodies of water on the premises.
There are no firearms or ammunition on the premises. No poisons were observed during the inspection. Detergents, cleaning compounds, medication and other hazardous items are made inaccessible.
There is one fireplace in the home located in the living room and is made inaccessible by a metal screen and will not be in use during daycare hours. There is a working fire extinguisher, smoke detector, carbon monoxide detector and adequate heating and ventilation for safety and comfort.
This is a single level home and there are no stairs. Safe toys and play equipment are observed. The home has working telephone service and LPA confirmed the phone number is (661) 343-6297.
Licensee ensures that children in care are supervised at all times and is aware children shall not be left in parked vehicles. The Licensee stated that the backyard is currently not being used by the children and informed LPA that she plans to make the backyard inaccessible to children. An updated facility sketch was provided to LPA. During inspection, there were no hazards to children present. Capacity as specified on the license is being maintained.
