| The outdoor play area LPA observed 2 propane tanks and dog feces. LPA observed red tricycle in outdoor play yard with metal handlebars that were warm to the touch.
There are no fireplaces or open face heaters in the home. There is a fire extinguisher stored in the kitchen, licensee did not know if it has ever been serviced. Licensee was advised that per manufacturer recommendation fire extinguisher shall be serviced or replaced annually. There is a working smoke detector, carbon monoxide detector and adequate heating and ventilation for safety and comfort.
This is a single level home and there are no stairs. Safe toys and play equipment are observed. The home has working telephone service and LPA confirmed the phone number.
Licensee ensures that children in care are supervised at all times and is aware children shall not be left in parked vehicles. The outdoor play area in the backyard is fenced. Capacity as specified on the license is being maintained.
LPA reviewed a sample of children’s files and observed files were complete with emergency information as required. During child file review LPA observed there are no immunization records found for children enrolled in care. Licensee’s Mandated Reporter Training was completed on 06/21/2024. Licensee’s pediatric CPR/First Aid certification expires on 02/01/2027. No records were maintained on Staff #1.
LPA discussed the Community Care Licensing website www.ccld.ca.gov which will provide access to resources such as forms, regulations Provider Information Notices (PINs), and Quarterly Updates. LPA discussed Reporting Requirements as outlined in the regulations (Section 102416.2).
Licensee Jennifer Force was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. Licensee has an 18-year-old adult living in the home who is not fingerprint cleared, civil penalty is being assessed.
