25 | On 12/11/2024 Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Christopher Burnias conducted an unannounced Annual Random Inspection and was met by licensee Keya Callahan. Days and hours of operation are Monday through Friday from 7:30 AM to 6:00 PM
LPA toured the home inside and outside and a census was taken. LPA reviewed current facility sketch and confirmed that the kitchen, bathroom, living room, dining room, and play room are used for providing care and are accessible to children. All other rooms are off-limits and made inaccessible by use of doorknob spinners.
There is no swimming pool or other bodies of water on the premises.
There are no firearms or ammunition on the premises. No poisons were observed during the inspection. Detergents, cleaning compounds, medication are made inaccessible. During inspection of the bathroom, LPA observed toothpaste and hair products in a lower cabinet drawer, and shampoo on a lower shelf in the shower. Licensee immediately moved items to a locked cabinet and a high shelf inaccessible to children. During inspection of the living room, LPA observed essential oil inside one of the cabinets. Licensee immediately moved the item to an inaccessible area. LPA reminded Licensee to store such items in an inaccessible area as to not become a hazard to children in care.
There is one fireplace in the home located in the living room and is made inaccessible by a glass door and will not be in use during daycare hours. There is a working fire extinguisher, smoke detector, carbon monoxide detector and adequate heating and ventilation for safety and comfort.
This is a single level home and there are no stairs. Safe toys and play equipment are observed. The home has working telephone service and LPA confirmed the phone number is (661) 900-3027.
