| During inspection of the living room, LPA observed essential oil on top of a tv stand. Licensee was reminded to keep essential oils/fragrances out of reach of children. Licensee immediately removed the essential oil.
Upon inspection of the kitchen, LPA observed cleaning compounds in an unlocked cabinet below the kitchen sink. LPA reminded Licensee that all cleaning products must be made inaccessible to children. Licensee immediately engaged the cabinet lock to make the items inaccessible.
Citations have been issued as the items observed could pose a potential risk to the health, safety, or personal rights of children in care. Licensee immediately made the items inaccessible and the citations have been cleared during the visit.
There is one fireplace in the home located in the living room and is made inaccessible by a glass door and will not be in use during daycare hours. There is a working fire extinguisher, smoke detector, carbon monoxide detector and adequate heating and ventilation for safety and comfort.
This is a single level home and there are no stairs Safe toys and play equipment are observed. The home has working telephone service and LPA confirmed the phone number.
Licensee ensures that children in care are supervised at all times and is aware children shall not be left in parked vehicles. The outdoor play area in the patio is enclosed and children do not have access to the yard area of the backyard. Licensee understands that children cannot have access to the yard area. No hazards were observed in the patio area of the home.
LPA reviewed a sample of children’s files and observed files were complete with emergency information as required. Licensee’s Mandated Reporter Training was completed on 09/06/25 Licensee’s pediatric CPR/First Aid certification expires on 03/02/27. LPA reminded Licensee that all employees and/or volunteers must have immunization records on file for influenza, pertussis and measles. LPA provided Licensee with an Entrance Checklist which lists required documents to be placed inside each child and staff member’s file.
LPA discussed the Community Care Licensing website www.ccld.ca.gov which will provide access to resources such as forms, regulations Provider Information Notices (PINs), and Quarterly Updates. LPA discussed Reporting Requirements as outlined in the regulations (Section 102416.2).
