25 | On 12/07/21 Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Araceli Gibson conducted an unannounced Required 1-year Inspection and was met by Celia Montelongo, Licensee. Days and hours of operation are Monday through Saturday 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM.
LPA toured the home inside and outside. Licensee confirmed that the dining room, living room, bathroom, and fenced back yard are accessible to day-care children. All other rooms are off-limits, which are made inaccessible to daycare children by means of safety knobs and door locks. There are no firearms or ammunition on the premises. No poisons were observed during the inspection. Detergents, cleaning compounds, medication and other hazardous items are made inaccessible.
The fireplace located in the living room with a glass enclosure is made inaccessible and will not be in use during daycare hours. There is a working fire extinguisher, smoke detector, carbon monoxide detector and adequate heating and ventilation for safety and comfort. There are no stairs, open face heaters. Safe toys and play equipment are observed. The home has a working telephone service and LPA confirmed the phone number is (661) 412-4652.
There are currently no infants in care. Licensee does not plan to take infants in her daycare. LPA discussed Safe Sleep Regulations as a precaution with the licensee and provided an LIC 9227 form. The cribs and play yards are kept free from all loose articles and objects while infants are sleeping, and there are no objects hanging above or attached to the crib or play yard. Infants are not swaddled while in care. Provider physically checks on sleeping infants every fifteen minutes and documents any signs of distress which includes but is not limited to flushed skin color, increase in body temperature, restlessness and labored breathing. Infants can be visually observed through an open door if sleeping in a separate room. Infants up to 12 months of age are placed on their backs for sleeping.
