25 | On 03/10/22 Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Araceli Gibson conducted an unannounced One Year Required Inspection and was met by Licensee, Elsa Quevedo. Days and hours of operation are Monday through Friday 6:00 AM to 5:30 PM.
LPA toured the home inside and outside and a census was taken of 3 children in care. Licensee confirmed that the living room, dining room, kitchen, bathroom, and back yard are used for providing care and are accessible to children. All other rooms are off-limits and made inaccessible by use of locks doors and safety gates. During today’s inspection Licensee requested to make bedroom 1 off limits to daycare children as she is not utilizing it for the daycare. Licensee signed and dated the 999A Sketch in her facility and on LPA’s copy to indicate off limits to bed room one. There is no swimming pool or other bodies of water on the premises. No firearms on the premises. No poison, detergents, cleaning compounds, and other hazardous items were observed during today’s inspection. Licensee had made her cabinets inaccessible by use of safety locks in the kitchen and bathroom.
There is a working fire extinguisher, smoke detector, carbon monoxide detector and adequate heating and ventilation for safety and comfort. There are no stairs or a fireplace in the home. Safe toys and play equipment are observed. The home has working telephone service and LPA confirmed the phone number is (323) 396-6354.
There are no infants in care or enrolled at this time. LPA discussed Safe Sleep Regulations with licensee. There is one crib or play yard for each infant in care if Licensee decides to enroll an infant. Cribs and play yards are kept free from all loose articles and objects while infants are sleeping, and there are no objects hanging above or attached to the crib or play yard. Infants are not swaddled while in care. Provider physically checks on sleeping infants every fifteen minutes and documents any signs of distress which includes but is not limited to flushed skin color, increase in body temperature, restlessness and labored breathing. Infants can be visually observed through an open door if sleeping in a separate room. Infants up to 12 months of age are placed on their backs for sleeping. Licensee understands the use of the Infant Sleep LIC9227 form. (Cont. 809C)
