25 | On September 21, 2023, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Paul Garcia conducted an unannounced case management inspection. LPAs met with licensee Sandra Rodriguez. A census was taken and LPA toured the facility inside and out. The purpose for the inspection is to determine if multiple recently added concrete slabs located in the backyard play area is safe for children in care. The purpose for the addition of the concrete is to expand the play area for the children.
The backyard play yard was off limits from September 16, 2023, to September 20, 2023.
Licensee emailed LPA on September 16, 2023, stating that she decided to hire a crew to add more cement to her backyard for the children. LPA advised increased supervision while workers are present at the home and that the back yard shall be off limits to children until LPA inspects the area after construction has been completed. LPA also informed licensee that children shall not have any contact with members of the work crew.
LPA inspected the backyard play area and observed two (2) age appropriate play structures, bikes and and toys. The newly added concrete slabs are smooth and pose no immediate nor potential risk to children. LPA APROVES the area. LPA will obtain a new facility sketch to include the new dimensions of the outdoor play area. Children can now use/play on the much larger area effective immediately.
Per Chapter 3, Division 12, Title 22 of the California Code of Regulations no deficiencies are observed today.
A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days.
