25 | On September 26, 2024, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Paul Garcia conducted an unannounced Annual/Random inspection and was met by Licensee, Sandra Rodriguez. Also present was licensees fingerprint cleared daughter who volunteers. Days and hours of operation are Monday through Friday from 6:00 a.m. to 5:15 p.m. The home has working telephone service and LPA confirmed the phone number is (661) 444-5740.
LPA Garcia toured the home inside and outside and a census was taken. Today Licensee Sandra Rodriguez requested an inspection for one (1) bedroom that was previously off limits that she now wants to use as a sleeping/playroom for children in care. Safe toys and play equipment were observed in bedroom #1. LPA Garcia observed two play pens, a clean carpet and a room that contained no hazards to children.
A current updated facility sketch was reviewed, and Sandra confirmed that the dining room, living room, bedroom #1, back room, restroom and outdoor back play yard are now used for providing care and are accessible to children. All other rooms are off-limits and made inaccessible by use of child safety door spinners.
LPA confirmed that the new facility sketch that was received during visit matched licensees sketch to ensure the accuracy of the areas being used. . LPA approves the immediate use of the bedroom #1.
The outdoor play area in the backyard is fenced and there are no hazards to children present. There is one large dog. Licensee understands the liability of pets around day care children and accepts responsibilities of any action taken by pets. There is no swimming pool or other bodies of water on the premises. Per licensee, there are no firearms or ammunition on the premises. No poisons were observed during the inspection. Detergents, cleaning compounds, medication and other hazardous items are made inaccessible.
There are no fireplaces or open face heaters in the home. There is a working fire extinguisher, smoke detector, carbon monoxide detector and adequate heating and ventilation for safety and comfort. There are no stairs in this home as this is a single level home. Safe toys and play equipment are observed.
